Reviews: For their second record the Nurses carried on with the theme of love (christ, can't Howard at least write a song about his car for a little variety?). The lyrics are okay, nothing that makes me want to nominate him for the post of Poet Laureate, Arlington County, but nothing awful. The music is great. The Nurses have really hit their stride, with Halpern doing the Byrds better than the Byrds, throwing out stinging little guitar lines everywhere there's space for him to do so. It's really something to hear.

The B side is a good song, but the vocals are too high in the mix and Howard's trying too hard to be emotional. The rejected test press, with an alternate vocal track, is far superior.

Reviews: Anyone know what DEF stood for? It was remixed and released as DYF (for Destroy Your Friends, if the etching in the record is to be believed).

Standouts from the first set are Control and Rubberheads, second set are Dead Man in Trenchtown and DEF.
