Love You Again // I Will Follow You ? rejected test pressings ? accepted test pressings (Re etched in B side runout) ??? copies on black vinyl Teen-A-Toons 1, 1980 Lineup: Marc Halpern - guitars / Harry Raab - drums / Howard SM Wuelfing - vocals, bass, guitar Recording Info: Recorded at Studio Z, spring '80. Engineered by Don Zientara, produced by Howard Wuelfing. Notes: Rejected test press has a different vocal track for the B side. Reviews: For their second record the Nurses carried on with the theme of love (christ, can't Howard at least write a song about his car for a little variety?). The lyrics are okay, nothing that makes me want to nominate him for the post of Poet Laureate, Arlington County, but nothing awful. The music is great. The Nurses have really hit their stride, with Halpern doing the Byrds better than the Byrds, throwing out stinging little guitar lines everywhere there's space for him to do so. It's really something to hear. The B side is a good song, but the vocals are too high in the mix and Howard's trying too hard to be emotional. The rejected test press, with an alternate vocal track, is far superior. I don't have the accepted test press of this record (Re is etched into the dead wax on the B side). If you've got a copy for sale or trade, email me. I have an extra rejected test press if anyone wants to trade... |
I Can II - Underheaven CS: Lineup: Tim Carter - guitar / Howard Wuelfing - bass Recording Info: Produced by Howard Wuelfing and Don Zientara, treatments and dubs (as noted) by Tim Carter, Don Zientara and Howard Wuelfing jointly. Notes: Reviews: I don't own this, though I would dearly love to. If you have a copy you don't want, I'd love to hear from you. |

Nurses - Disconcerted CS: Lineup: Marc Halpern - guitars / Howard SM Wuelfing - vocals, bass, guitar / uncredited (probably Danny Frnakel or Harry Raab) - drums (side A) / Ricky Briefs - drums (side B) Recording Info: Side one live at CBGB, October 1979. Side two live at the Bayou, February 1981 (cut off?). Notes: Labels are flipped on my copy. Sleeve is a bit smaller than 7x7 and the whole shabang comes in a ziploc bag (no tape case). Reviews: Anyone know what DEF stood for? It was remixed and released as DYF (for Destroy Your Friends, if the etching in the record is to be believed). Standouts from the first set are Control and Rubberheads, second set are Dead Man in Trenchtown and DEF. |
Nurses - Studious Behavior CS: Lineup: Recording Info: Notes: Skip's Comments: That's just something I financed. Reviews: This is a collection of studio material (the companion to Disconcerted). I don't own this, though I would dearly love to. If you have a copy you don't want, I'd love to hear from you. |
