Run by Rude A from Jakkpot? The only releases I know about are the three Jakkpot 7"s and the This Is American Punk compilation.
Just One Fix / Insomnia / You Ain't Shit / End of My Rope cassette American Punk Records APR CAS01 41995, 1995 Lineup: Jakkass - vocals / Jakk Daniels - guitar / Jakk Nicholson - r. guitar / Jakk Off - bass / Jakk Knife - drums Recording Info: Notes: Reviews: There are some bands that spring, full-grown, into the world--they skip the formative stages, the baby steps, the early years, and are a force from the moment they hit the stage. Jakkpot are one of those bands. Massive, nasty, intense rock'n roll that's inspiring, even from the get-go. The recording quality is excellent for this demo, and three of the four songs were released as-is on vinyl. Only You Ain't Shit was re-recorded for release. |

Just One Fix // Insomnia black vinyl American Punk Records APR07IN01 61995, 1995 Lineup (none listed): Rude A - vocals / Keith Campbell - guitar Recording Info: Notes: Reviews: Great stupid punk rock. I don't think anyone can object to me calling it that, since really, it is incredibly stupid stuff. Jakkpot were masters of dumb lyrics that made AC/DC sexual innuendo (ala "let me cut your cake with my knife") look clever, mixed with some of the stereotypical punk obsessions (like leather jackets). Rude A weren't no poet, but he got the job done. Musically this is killer stuff: big ol' Black Market Baby style guitar (courtesy of Keith Campbell), pounding rock drums, and lyrics about getting your dick sucked. If that's yer thing, then so is this. |

You Ain't Shit // Nobody Wanted Us (Black Market Baby) most on on black vinyl some on translucent red vinyl some on translucent yellow vinyl American Punk Records APR07IN02 21996, 1996 Lineup: Recording Info: Notes: Anyone have pressing numbers for this record? Reviews: Jakkpot maintained a standard of excellence for all their releases, but if I had to pick one, just one Jakkpot record to take with me when I die, it would be this one. Even Big Red himself would have to admit that You Ain't Shit is a hilariously stupid track, and that Nobody Wanted Us is perhaps the greatest "band song" ever written. Too bad Black Market Baby didn't release a version when they were at their peak. I don't have the test pressing for this record and the voices in my head tell me I need it. Email me if you've got one for sale or trade. |

Hit or Miss // Stepping Out (Monkees/999) clear vinyl American Punk Records APR07IN06 51997, 1997 Lineup: Recording Info: Notes: Reviews: Hit or Miss is a pretty standard track from the boys, but Stepping Out, a rasta-fueled reggae melding of 999's Inside Out with the Monkees' Stepping Stone, is the hands-down winner here (on par with GI's marvelous rendition on the recent First Demo 7"). |
