World Held Hostage / Rape // Terrorist / Math Teacher 10 test pressings 1000 copies on black vinyl w/lyric sheet 1000 copies on black vinyl w/inverted labels and lyric sheet DSI Records 9, 1988 Lineup: Brian - bass / Ramon - drums / Franklin - guitar / Larry - vocals Recording Info: Recorded at Inner Ear Studios, November and December 1987. Engineered by Don Zientara and Eli Janney. Mixed by Ian MacKaye. Notes: Someone wanna scan in the other pressing of this and maybe tell me how I'm supposed to tell the first pressing from the second? Reviews: Good songs, terrible recording. The sound here is really thin and anemic--no power at all. The songs themselves owe a lot to the GoF/post-punk fever that was going around DC at the time. The Thorns did a demo before this that's much, much better--rippin, ragin, thrashin' punk rock. Does anyone know how to reach any of the Thorns? If so, email me! |

Government Issue - Forever / Fun Junkies - Hardcore Hotel // Black Market Baby - Back Seat Sally / MFD - Minute To Go / Sudder to Think - Touch 10 test pressings 1000 copies on black vinyl w/black cover and insert 1000 copies on blue vinyl w/black cover and insert 2140 copies on green vinyl w/purple cover and insert DSI Records 10, 1988 Lineup: Recording Info: Notes: Reviews: Despite the lineup, this release isn't that strong. GI contribute a terrible song, the Fun Junkies are completely unmemorable (but Megadosage were so fucking good!), the Black Market Baby song isn't that interesting (and has since been released elsewhere), the MFD track is good, but was released on Full Volume, and Shudder to Think have always sucked. All in all this is a pretty disappointing release. With that out of the way, however, I'm still lookin' for a test pressing of this record. Drop me a line if you can help me out... |
